I successfully won a contract to design and code seven templates, each with several variations (consisting mainly of colour changes). This was a mid-long term contract completed over several months. Along with some standard looking templates I also was asked to create some more unusual, standout, templates.

The main challenges came from getting each design to integrate with the existing code whilst providing enough flexibility the end user can add what they want where. This goes against my usual philosophy of using fully bespoke design and code.

jQuery was used on each template to add interest and movement to the interface. It was used mainly to add subtle effects on the navigation and product imagery.

Several of the templates I designed are now being used on live stores selling a wide variety of products.

Campus Britain already had an existing site which was coded incorrectly. This made page load times agonisingly long and was seriously affecting performance.

I started from scratch with the code and had to dissect the existing site to get the images for the rebuild. The whole site is now coded to the latest and strictest professional standards with lightning quick page loads throughout.

We’re now looking to the future and have already discussed a complete redesign along with adding a blog and several other features to improve the website.

Store2Go provide template driven ecommerce stores for people who want to sell online. An existing site already existed but its design was bland and the site was coded ineffectively.

A fresh, uncluttered design was employed with a strong focus on the presentation of information. This site was commissioned in conjunction with several templates for the store system which are now being used by Store2Go customers.

Fun Kids Rooms needed an ecommerce solution designed to sell a boutique range of kids bedroom furniture and décor.

No previous site existed and all design and content was created from scratch. The online shopping experience is based around the user experience designed to connect with the customer.

N.G. Johnson Ltd are a refractory enginnering company who previously only had a single page “placeholder” with basic site information. This is the northern divisions site, the parent site is a sperate domain which was also commissioned once the northern site was finished.

The microsite only has a few pages designed to promote the companies services and showcase some previous work. The layout and design is simple, uncluttered and designed to try to reflect the industry.

My First Pad is designed as a micro site to provide first time buyers with help and guidance. McInerney homes wanted a separate domain to provide key information to a target audience.

This work was carried out whilst being contacted for an agency. The main site layout and design had already been created, I was contracted to code the site and add further information as/when provided.
