Maintenance Contracts
Just because your website is live why neglect it now? An inexpensive maintenance contract means you can update your site with fresh content, add new features and generally develop your website over a period of time.
As an individual you are unique. If you commission me to create your website I will ensure that every aspect of your website is also unique, from design to coding. This fluid approach to web design means that every site I create has a different demand on my time and should be priced accordingly. I produce professionally designed websites, not cheap “out the box” rubbish.
Below are some price guidelines. To receive a comprehensive quote contact me with as much information as possible. I´ll get back to you quickly.
A single page website is a fantastic first step. Single page websites are a great way to advertise a service or a product whilst providing useful information to your visitors (such as your contact info, location, hours of business etc). Your web presence has static content and represents great value for money. Think of this as your online business card.
Typical example of what you get:
A single page website can be yours for as little as £150 and can easily be upgraded/added to at a later date.
Your website is small in size and replicates a printed brochure. A brochure website is a cost effective method for small businesses and individuals to create an online presence. Brochure sites contain static information such as their real life counterparts.
Typical example of what you get:
The typical cost for a brochure website is around £750-£1500 depending on how many pages are required and content.
For professionals or business who want to showcase more than a static brochure site. You can start to sell your products/services “on page” and make the site as large as required.
Typical example of what you get:
Due to the complicated nature of these sites prices can vary widely. For example a 10 page site with all the features above, created as a professional business website starts from £1500. A more advanced site with basic ecommerce and some fancy effects would cost £2500 upwards.
These are large and complicated websites aimed at selling a range of products online. A complete CMS is required so you can add and edit your products details yourself. These expensive websites require a lot of back end coding and testing to make sure they work correctly. Shopping carts and payment gateways need to be integrated to the site so visitors can shop online in convenience and safety.
Typical example of what you get:
These are large and expensive sites that take a long time to setup and test. For eCommerce sites the additional services of a professional coder is required due to advanced programming and integration. eCommerce sites can often take months to create and require a lot of work before they´re ready. Once complete you will need to promote the site and add all your business and product information yourself. It would be wrong to quote standard prices without fully understanding your needs first. Expect to pay up to several thousand pounds.
The internet is a cutting edge medium constantly changing and improving. It´s important to keep your online presence fresh to remain at the cutting edge. If you´re looking for a clean, modern and stimulating new design then get in touch, you´ll be amazed what a fresh new site can do for you.
Typical example of what you get:
Redesigns are priced on a case-case basis. If you´re just after some fresh new colours or that little extra “new” feature then I can also help.
As a web designer nothing makes me more annoyed than professional companies who use antiquated coding techniques. It´s not just the so called pros either. A massive percentage of websites I visit have validation errors with their code. Valid code is more important than ever as there are more ways than ever to view online content. Invalid code will probably work on one or two browsers, sometimes none. Read more about code validation:
Typical example of what you get:
As with a redesign this is priced depending on how much work is involved.
I don´t claim to be an SEO expert; if you´re after advanced optimisation I would recommend you commission a specialist in the field (I can put you in touch with some excellent companies).
Several years working in the industry has taught me a few things about SEO. If you´re after that extra little push to help get your website found online then I might be able to help. First I´ll take a look at your site and talk to you about your objectives. If I think I can help then we can get stuck in.

It´s vital that a website loads quickly. A visitor won´t wait whilst your 2mb image loads up instead they´ll be off (to your competition). Images are often the largest part of a website causing longer load times. That´s why it´s essential to ensure that your images not only look great, they´re also the smallest (quickest) file size possible.

Content management systems (CMS) make it possible to update the content of your website and even add images, links, and new pages without the need for a web designer (remind me why I´m offering this again?). A simple interface is provided and no previous experience is needed to use the system.
A CMS allows content to simply be edited/updated/added without specialist knowledge or skills. A blog is the perfect example of a site that requires a CMS, an ecommerce site is another.
What´s involved?
Extra work is often priced by the hour although usually a CMS is priced on what´s involved. A basic CMS (such as the ability to add your own images into a gallery, with comments and links) can be an inexpensive way for you to control your own content. A large and complicated CMS (such as an ecommerce solution) can be expensive due to the extra work, integration and testing required.

An image slideshow is the ideal way to showcase work, products or services in an appealing way. Often called a Flash slideshow (although it´s not always necessary to use flash) image slideshows are commonly used in a websites header or to showcase a collection of images.
Over the last year advanced visual galleries have been become increasingly popular and there is now a wide range of styles and options to choose from.
Whether you´re after some sliding content for your website or an impressive image gallery with image transitions and effects get in touch to discuss your requirements.

It´s now possible to add some great visual effects to your website to make it pop right off the screen. A simple example is the sliding content on this page, which can be implemented inexpensively on your site.
There are many advanced visual effect from basic sliding content to advanced flash animation. The only limitations are your budget and deadline.

If James Bond owned a website this is how he would use analytics to keep track of visits to his website. OK so it might not have a self destruct function but advanced analytics shows you how people found your site, how they explored it, and how you can enhance their visitor experience. You can also improve your website return on investment, increase conversions, and make more money through your website with over 80 reports relating to how people use your website.
What´s involved?
Analytics can be added to your site for around £100 depending on your site structure. Small brochure sites can take advantage of analytics for as little as £50!
What´s the point in having a website if no-one can find it? Search Engine Submission is a relatively simple process but done incorrectly it can severely affect your website.
I´ve learnt the best practices when it comes to submitting to search engines and I could help how quickly your site gets indexed and how many pages are included.
What´s involved?
Search engine submission costs £50 which included submission to the top search engines and a Google sitemap to help with the giant that is Google.
In general, there are two types of sitemaps. The first type of sitemap is a webpage listing all the pages of your site, often by section, and is meant to help users find the information they need.
A secondary sitemap is designed specifically for search engines (especially Google). This type helps a search engine find information about the pages on your site, including URLs that may not be discoverable by search engines normal crawling process.
Sitemaps are an essential part of any website and should never be overlooked.
What´s involved?
The cost of a sitemap varies depending on how large your site is and its structure. Smaller sites can have both a physical and .xml sitemap for as little as £100 whilst a larger site would be priced accordingly.
Blog derives from web and log. A blog is a personal diary, a place to share thoughts/ideas, a political soapbox, a breaking-news outlet, a collection of links, your own private thoughts, and memos to the world.
Your blog is whatever you want it to be. There are millions of them, in all shapes and sizes, and there are no real rules.
In simple terms, a blog is a web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing basis. New stuff shows up at the top, so your visitors can read what's new. Then they comment on it or link to it or email you, or not.
